Game Review: DECA Sports
Deca Sports from Hudson Soft is a mediocre sports compilation with at least one shining gem amongst the other sports bloopers.

Deca Sports from Hudson Soft is a compilation of sports games you can play several different ways but it all boils down to how good are the games themselves. Anyone can find a few of the games fun and even great but if you're looking for an overall great gaming time on the Wii system you may want to look elsewhere.
Deca Sports does a great job of giving you plenty of games to play out of the 10 sports games but a few are not actually regular sports. You have curling, beach volleyball, badminton, basketball and soccer for team sports and kart racing, snowboard cross and supercross for some racing type action. The singles sports have archery and figure skating with archery, curling and badminton about the best games in my opinion.
Like I said just about anyone will find at least one game that is fun but some just don't really thrill me that much and some are just boring. I really enjoy the archery as it is definitely realistic with how the targets get much smaller at the longer ranges and wind does count in this game. Other games are just fair and some are pretty bad due to the games terrible AI but some are just not that well made like the figure skating.
Other games I found to be rather boring and one, figure skating just did not thrill me at all as I found it a simple follow the leader type game. This will go without saying that others will enjoy other games but for most you probably will not find many that are going to be all that enjoyable. It would seem that Hudson spent a bit more effort in having a good set of games instead of concentrating on getting a smaller number of games really well done.
Deca sports has plenty of single person ways to play these ten games from open match, league play, tournament and Deca Challenge which is a simple single sport gaming set. The multiplayer game type is a team approach and does not give you a different game type such as the single player but has you competing against other players in a single sport.
The game comes complete with the ten games but the AI is just not that competitive to play against and will have you wishing for some real human opponents. But with the single game play against others using the multiplayer you can spend a lot of time jumping through menus when you get tired of one sport.
Deca Sports does a decent job with all the sports and the controls are fairly easy to get the grasp of but the racing games are the worst with the controls. You have little real precise control and can find yourself all over the track with a slight twist or movement of the controller when you're on either of the racing game types. The other sports like the soccer, basketball and volleyball are decent but nothing to brag about but the skating is just terrible.
In the figure skating you simply follow these large dots and shake the remote when you hit a blue dot to perform a maneuver and get points for getting the timing right. When you miss the maneuver you will probably fall and loose points as well as get out of time to your routine but this doesn't seem to matter much.
The graphics are all pretty good and the audio is decent enough but without much in the way of game play the rest is kind of a wash. If you don't have an enjoyable game to start with the graphics will not have you playing just to see the little cartoon figures play games.
A few of the games play well, much better than others, like the badminton and the curling which are both pretty fun but the archery is probably the best. In the archery you have simple shake of the remote for pulling the string and then you aim for the target and let go of the trigger to fire. The higher score wins but the wind and aiming get tricky as the shorter distance has the entire three foot target about the size of a dime on your screen. The further distances make it even smaller so aiming is about right when compared to real archery.
Other than a few good games that will probably be different for anyone who plays this I would be hard pressed to recommend this as a regular purchase. This may be a fun rental to get for a party or to check it out to see if you enjoy it enough for purchase.
Deca Sports from Hudson Soft is too much of a mixed package to rate much of a look but you may find a few gems in amongst the stones of games. For such reviews, guides, articles, tips, tricks and all new NBA2k18 locker codes visit at www.nba2k18-lockercodes.com
